{"id":11934,"date":"2019-04-18T16:37:59","date_gmt":"2019-04-18T16:37:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uta.cl\/strengthening-radiological-protection-for-chile\/web\/2019-04-18\/163759.html"},"modified":"2019-04-18T16:37:59","modified_gmt":"2019-04-18T16:37:59","slug":"strengthening-radiological-protection-for-chile","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uta.cl\/index.php\/2019\/04\/18\/strengthening-radiological-protection-for-chile\/","title":{"rendered":"Strengthening radiological protection for Chile"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Universidad de Tarapac\u00e1, through its Faculty of Health Sciences (FACSAL), arranged a series of scientific and academic events in the cities of Santiago and Arica between April 02 and 08, as part of the visit made to our country by Dr. Eliseo Va\u00f1o Carruana, Medical Physics emeritus professor of the Radiology Department from the Complutense University of Madrid and emeritus member of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The main activities were:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>April 02 (Santiago)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Coordination Workshop of the &#8220;OPTIMIZATION OF PEDIATRIC INTERVENTIONIST RADIOLOGICAL PROTECTION IN LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN (OPRIPALC)&#8221;. Project made in cooperation with the Hemodynamics service of the Luis Calvo Mackenna Hospital, where the major scopes of the OPRIPALC project were unveiled, led from the World Health Organization, the Pan American Health Organization and the International Atomic Energy Agency.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Imagen foto_00000004\" border=\"0\" class=\"fotodrag\" id=\"foto_00000004\" src=\"\/web\/site\/artic\/20190418\/imag\/foto_0000000420190418163759.jpg\" data-w=\"720\" data-h=\"540\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>April 03 (Santiago)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Seminar entitled as &#8220;ART STATE AND RADIOLOGICAL PROTECTION CHALLENGES IN RADIODIAGNOSTIC AND INTERVENTIONIST PROCEDURES FOR CHILE&#8221;, conducted in the Medical Faculty from the Universidad del Desarrollo, attended by over a hundred of professionals, students and authorities related to Radiological Protection in Chile. In this activity, the presentations of the Dr. Elise Va\u00f1o Carruana, as ICRP emeritus member, stood out.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Imagen foto_00000003\" border=\"0\" class=\"fotodrag\" id=\"foto_00000003\" src=\"\/web\/site\/artic\/20190418\/imag\/foto_0000000320190418163759.jpg\" data-w=\"720\" data-h=\"540\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Imagen foto_00000002\" border=\"0\" class=\"fotodrag\" id=\"foto_00000002\" src=\"\/web\/site\/artic\/20190418\/imag\/foto_0000000220190418163759.jpg\" data-w=\"720\" data-h=\"540\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>April 04 (Arica)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Seminar entitled as &#8220;RADIOLOGICAL PROTECTION IN CARDIAC IMAGING PROCEDURES&#8221;, activity conducted in FACSAL premises, where topics of Radiological Protection in the Cardiac Imaging area were addressed, due to the opening ratification in July of the present year of the hemodynamics service for Arica y Parinacota region.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Imagen foto_00000005\" border=\"0\" class=\"fotodrag\" id=\"foto_00000005\" src=\"\/web\/site\/artic\/20190418\/imag\/foto_0000000520190418163759.jpg\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" data-w=\"720\" data-h=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>April 05 (Arica)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Establishment of the Degree of Master in Medical Physics Diagnosis by imaging. In the FACSAL premises, a work reunion was held between scholars from different units of the Universidad de Tarapac\u00e1 and the Ph.D. Eliseo Va\u00f1o Carruana.
